Richard Nolan Snider, 72, of Salisbury, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
He was born December 21, 1949 in Rowan County, NC to the late Alfred Lee Snider Jr. and Lois Marie Swicegood Snider. He graduated from West Davidson High School and retired from Philip Morris where he worked as a maintenance technician. Richard proudly served in the United States Army where he fought during the Vietnam War in the 159th Aviation Battalion B. Company (Varsity) and part of the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). During his time in the Army, he was awarded a Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal of Valor.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Salem Dietz (Brandon) and Raina Goble (Garret); grandchildren, Maclaine Dietz, Taybryn Dietz, Jayten Snider, and Neala Goble; mother of his children and best friend, Emily Baity Snider; brother, Jerry Snider; and sisters, Sharon Snider Hartley (Rudy) and Gayle Snider Buddenbaum (Karl).
There will be a Celebration of Life and military graveside service held at a later date.
The family would like to graciously decline any meals being brought to them, and instead would like donations to be made to Freedom Christian Worship Center Food Bank, Attn: Jerry, 2535 Long Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.

What a great picture of Rick! That’s how I’ll always remember him! I have wonderful memories of going to his wedding and him visiting us in Texas.I am so saddened and sorry for all of you.He and Abel were such close friends for so long! Within the last couple of years we reconnected and spent some time together or just talked on the phone. I wish I could have prevented this tragedy from happening. Sorry for your loss! Prayers……

I’ve been friends with Rooster for years. He’ll is remembered by so many as a great person. Rooster’s only fault may have been that he didn’t realize what a great guy he was. All my memories of Rooster are good. So sad.

I just got back from a trip and learned of Richards passing. I was just talking about him before leaving on my trip. I deeply saddened by this. He was a great friend and loyal customer. He will be missed!
