Rick (Richard Charles) Driggers, 61, of Mint Hill, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2017 at his residence.
Rick was born to Manning P. Driggers Jr. and the late Betty Norris Driggers on February 11, 1956 in Charlotte, NC. He attended Appalachian State University and proudly served his country in the Army. He was an Eagle Scout and volunteered at the Carolina Raptor Center. Rick spent his later years watching sports (his beloved Braves and Panthers most), Sci-Fi & Superheros with his girls. He loved telling stories of scuba adventures, family pitfalls, and life lessons. We will always think of his words when we look at the stars. He knows the Universe now.
In addition to his father, Rick is survived by his wife, Judy (Finnell) Driggers of Mint Hill; daughters, Cynthia Laci Driggers of Charlotte, and Melanie Erin Driggers of Mint Hill; sisters, Delores Kirkland (Frank) of Indian Land, and Kim Knell (Jeff) of Concord; brother Gregg Driggers (Tina-Maria) of Charlotte; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Teddy Bear, Rosemary, and Hero… and a brother by another mother, Matthew Boyd of Georgia.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (www.secondharvestmetrolina.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Driggers family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.

I’m sorry for all the good family members. I sat right next to Rick for years in the Wachovia 3 building, 6th floor. Real nice guy, I don’t recall him ever getting angry. Great guy to work with!
Susan Young says
I remember working with Rick, for years, and he was always a cut-up. He will be missed. I have you all in my prayers.
Dave Wasserman says
I worked with Rick for several years and went to grab a take-out lunch with him many times from Tin Tin Box of Noodles. He was a very good conversationalist and a good work friend. I remember his love of reading and scuba diving. Rick’s Family, I’m sorry for your loss, and I know he will be missed, but you’ll always have those memories that will comfort you in the coming days. My prayers are with you!
