Robert “Bob” Hodgdon, aged 65, departed peacefully on April 21, 2024, in Concord, NC, surrounded by the love of his family. He graced this world on November 1, 1958, in Kane, PA, born to Paul and Marilyn Hodgdon.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bob’s life was a testament to love and compassion. His kindness knew no bounds, and his presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him.
Bob attended Kane Area Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 18.
Bob’s life was one of service and dedication. He proudly served his country in the Air Force for eight years, exemplifying bravery and honor in his service. Following his military career, Bob continued to protect and serve his community as a police officer at Bradford Township, PA, for an admirable twenty-one years. His commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of others touched countless lives.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob Hodgdon was known for his love of golf, baseball, football, and hockey. He was known for his kind and generous spirit. Bob’s sharp wit and playful sarcasm were his trademarks, always ready to ignite laughter and lift spirits.
He deeply cherished his relationship with God, his family, and friends, always offering kindness, support, and laughter.
Bob Hodgdon is survived by his mother, Marilyn; five cherished children, Brian Hodgdon, Alicia Hodgdon LaBorde, Brianna Hodgdon, Nikia Hodgdon, and Jeff Hodgdon; two brothers, Paul Hodgdon and Tracy Hodgdon; and five grandchildren, Jacoby Hodgdon, Aubrey Hodgdon, Sophia Laborde, Landon Blanes, and Weston Blanes. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Hodgdon; brother, Glenn Hodgdon; and brother, Jeff Hodgdon.
As we mourn the loss of Bob, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the profound impact he had on those around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Nikia Hodgdon’s home, Tuesday, April 23, at 5pm. All who knew and loved Bob are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of his remarkable life.
As Bob enters into eternal rest, may his soul find comfort and peace in the presence of the Divine. Though we mourn his physical absence, we take solace in the belief that he is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before him, and that his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guided by the grace of God.
