Robert M. (Bob,Mickey) Dixon, 69, of Tyro North Carolina passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

Born January 25, 1948, in Rural Valley PA, he was the son of the late James & Helen (Shutack) Dixon.

In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by his brother, Charles Dixon and grandson, Ronnie Dixon.

Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Linda (Arkwright) Dixon of Tyro, NC; brother, James Dixon of PA; sister, Marcella (Dixon) Ball of PA; sons, Ronald Dixon of OH; David Dixon of PA; Rod (Allyson) Battaglino of NC; Robert Dixon of PA; grandchildren, Todd, April, Amanda, Ashley, David, Alannah, Rebekka, Tahsa & Robert; nine great grandchildren and his beloved dogs, Matty and Molly.

Bob loved to tinker on old cars, attending car shows and spending time searching junkyards for car and truck parts in his spare time. He was a former employee of B&W Beaver Falls PA, City of Lexington NC – gas division, Chesapeak (Green Printing) NC, and Pak rite NC.

We would like to thank the staff at Alston Brook for their outstanding care and compassion.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, May 28, 2017 for a celebration of life memorial service at the Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1351 Lamb Road, Lexington NC 27295 at 3:00 pm. Pastor Jimmy Greene will officiate.
