Robert “Turbo” Eugene Sutton, 75, of China Grove, NC passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Tucker Hospice House surrounded by family. Mr. Sutton was born on June 24, 1938 in Atlanta, GA to the late Mr. Neal Sutton and Mrs. Ruby Monroe Sutton.

Robert was of the Baptist faith and worked many years driving a show car for his sons’s racing team. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and grandchildren, square dancing, camping, and smoking his pipe. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Sutton, and sisters, Mary Lou Gilbert and Evelyn Banks.

Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Smith Sutton; two sons, Robert Sutton and wife Peggy of China Grove, and Daniel Sutton and wife Darlene of Salisbury; a daughter, Cathy Wetter and partner Sydney of Mt. Airy; a brother, Jim “Peanut” Sutton of Florida; grandchildren, Brad, Brian, Matt, Ben, Eric, and Rebecca; and great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Bodi, Brecken, Braden, Dade, and Sampson; Sister-in-law, Carolyn Allison and husband Tommy of Phenix City, AL; mother-in-law, Vivian Smith of Phenix City, AL; and brother-in-law, Harris Smith and wife Kenny of Kannapolis, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robert Sutton Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo location.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
