Sharon L. New (Newling) says
My uncle was the closest relative I had to my father (Robert Newling-who passed away when I was three). Even though I lived in Maine and he in FL or North Carolina, I knew he was always there if I needed him. Once I came to Fl to see a close relative and because my 2-year old son was with me, it was felt that I needed to stay in a hotel rather than at the relative’s house. I felt very alone and wanted to go home. When my uncle found out, he came and rescued me and I stayed with him for a whole month. I had a great time and my son had a great time(unbeknownst to me) crawling through the old rusty cars. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life and his wife, Sharon, also. I also feel that Sharon was the best thing that ever happened to him. I will miss him greatly. I love you Uncle Roger, rest in peace, and give my love to my dad when you see him.
