Ronnie Edwin Wiles, 70, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Alston Brook Assisted Living facility in Lexington.
He was born December 23, 1948 in Winston Salem, NC to the late Archie Wiles and Virginia Woody Wiles. Ronnie graduated from Thomasville High School and attended Troy State University where he played football. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Ronnie was a life member of the VFW, American Legion, and was an ordained evangelist.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Ruth Hayes Wiles; step son, Roy Wolfe of Lexington; daughters, Sherri Leveritt and Michelle Wiles, both of Florida; Jennifer Wiles and Stephanie Hammond, both of North Carolina; son, Paul Gregory Wiles of Florida; 6 grandchildren; step-grandson, Gabriel J. Wolfe; brother, Archie Wiles of Salisbury; and other extended family.
There will be a memorial service held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at the Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to assist with final expenses.
