Sandra Goodman Hoover, 79, of Spencer passed away on May 8, 2026 peacefully at her home. Sandra was born on August 23, 1947 in Salisbury NC.

Sandra “Sandy” Goodman Hoover was married to the love of her life. Things she loved most was enjoying life with her husband, but most importantly, watching her grandson play baseball and watching the Atlanta Braves. Her whole world was her grandson Jace. If you knew Sandy, you knew you would never see her without her hair and nails done and her pink lipstick on. She had a heart of gold, loved her fur babies and would rescue one in a heartbeat. Sandy was not only “mom” to her biological children but to many others as well. She was known as Aunt Sandy to some, but “Mimi” to most.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Chalmus and Madeline Wilson Goodman; and a brother, Steven “Goob” Goodman>

Sandy is survived by her husband, Grant Hoover; son, Michael Jowers; daughter, Ashley (Terry) Moore; brother, Robert (Phyllis) Goodman; sister-in-law, Sandra Goodman; bonus daughter, Olivia (Joey) Dunn; step-daughter, Stacie (Brian) Gilbert; grandchildren, Ava Moore, Jace Moore, Abigail Dunn, Caroline Dunn, Alex Jowers; and she had special bonds with her nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Highest Praise Worship Center in China Grove, NC .

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rowan County Animal Shelter.
