Sylvia Jean Wagoner Brady, 74 of Gold Hill passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Novant Rowan Medical Center. Sylvia was born on October 15, 1940 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Ruben and Henrietta Haycock Wagoner.
Sylvia attended Boyden High School. She worked for NC Finishing Company for over 35 years; after retiring she worked part-time for the Saleeby Fisher YMCA and Dan Nicholas Park. Sylvia was a caregiver, always watching over the elderly in her community. She also loved cooking and taking in animals.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Allen Brady; a son, David Allan Brady; brother, Tony Wagoner; and sister, Gail Athey.
Survivors: Sylvia is survived by a son, Roy Laten Brady and wife Jessie of Gold Hill; daughter, Megan Leigh Brady of Salisbury; brother, Walter “Butch” Wagoner of Gold Hill; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Sylvia was dearly loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
