Tayoko “Jeannie” Kajioka Karriker, 87 of Mooresville. Passed away on June 7, 2012 at the Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis. Jeannie was born on February 15, 1925 in Okayama-ken, Hiroshima, Japan; a daughter of the late Terutsugu and Shigeru Kajioka. She met and married her husband, Dale S. Karriker in the American Embassy, Tokyo, Japan on December 17, 1959. Her husband was serving in the USAF and stationed at Yakota Air Base, Japan.
Jeannie is survived by her husband Dale S. Karriker of Mooresville, and son and daughter-in-law Dana D. Karriker and Nancy G. Karriker of Winston-Salem.
A visitation followed by a memorial service to celebrate Jeannie’s life will be held in the Family Life Center at Concordia Lutheran Church, China Grove on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 starting at 3:00 pm. Visitation will start at 3:00 pm, and the service at 4:00 pm conducted by the Reverend Dr. Larry W. Bost. Interment of the ashes will be conducted by Rev. Bost at a later private family service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church Building Fund and/or the Concordia Lutheran Church Columbarium/Ashe Garden Fund 185 Concordia Church Road China Grove, NC 28023.
