Mr. Johnson was born June 21, 1948 in Salisbury, NC to the late Jack Bynum Johnson and Frances Elliott Johnson. Terry was a Vietnam Veteran, former EMT, firefighter and truck driver. He played the guitar at church and sang as a young boy with his mother. He loved the Lord and his family. Terry also enjoyed going out to eat with his family and telling stories from all the years of his work.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Carlisle Johnson; sister, Karen Johnson Olive.

Terry is survived by sister, Mary Dunaway (Glenn); grandson, Matthew Hardman; special niece, Marsha Rinehart; brother in law and sister in law, Bobby and Susan Carlisle; step-daughter, Jamie Honeycutt (Kevin); step-daughter, Lisa Euart; 3 step-grandsons, Connor, Chris, & Jonathan; and 3 step-grandchildren; numerous cousins, family friend, Betty Gardner; and aunt Julie Logan. He is also survived by his fur babies, Arthur and Bailey.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at Canaan Baptist Church, 785 Barringer St, Salisbury, NC 28146, from 1pm-2pm, with a memorial service following beginning at 2pm. The service will be officiated Pastor Bruce Graham and Pastor Maurice Eagle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, Canaan Baptist Church or Old Country Baptist Church.
