Thomas Hall Jones, 75, of Kernersville, NC passed away on July 5, 2020 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. He was born on September 15, 1945 in Atlanta, GA to the late Dewey Alan Jones and Jeanette Dailey Jones. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Marines as a Sergeant from 1963-1969.
Thomas worked as a Supervisor for Bellsouth from 1967-1991 and then as a IT Manager at Ansco & Assoc. in Greensboro from 1993 until he retired in 2013. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and was and avid Georgia Tech and Atlanta Falcons fan Thomas loved personal gunsmithing and made his own bullets for his guns. He was a part of the Iredell Regulators and participated in the Cowboy Action Shooting Re-enactment in Statesville for six years under the name Shadetree Jones. Thomas had a passion for teaching and shooting guns with his grandsons, Austin and Zack. He was very proud of his all grandchildren and he loved to hear about how they were doing as well as, watching them at various sporting events. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha K. Jones; a sister, Norma Jones Mayfield; and a brother, Dewey Jones.
He is survived by his son, Tommy Jones (Jennifer); his daughter, Kasey Jones Barton (Kevin); his step-daughters, Jennifer Long (Joey), and Debbie Stewart (Jay); a step-son, Jeff Moore (Kellie); a brother-in-law, Terry Weatherford (Joann); grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Chloe, Caleb, Keighlyn, Brittany, Josh, Amber, Jaimi (Daniel), Matt (Britney), Austin, Kailyn, Zack, Michael, Culton, Christian, and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Piper, Savannah, Karsyn, and Karmyn; sister-in-law, Melba Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County (2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625).
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
