Thomas “Tom” Albert Bryan, 87, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away Sunday November 19th, at the NC State Veterans Home.
Tom was born second of four children to Freeman and Estelle Bryan in Richlands, NC. He graduated high school and enlisted in the US. Coastguard, serving during the Korean War era. Tom became a NC State Highway Patrolman obtaining the rank of line Sergeant. He faithfully served the people of North Carolina for over 30 years.
Tom loved Jesus and he adored Doris his wife of 63 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working his garden, sharing the bounty with friends, cooking for his family, serving his local church and those in need in the community. He blessed his children, their spouses and the grandchildren, all of whom loved him dearly, as well as every acquaintance with whom he crossed paths. He continually spoke well of others.
Tom was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Meagan and, his older sister Edna.
Tom is survived by his wife, Doris; their three children, Dana, wife Pam, Craig, wife Lydia and Sherry, husband Craig; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brothers Volney, wife Joanne, and F. G., wife Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday November 25th, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church (203 N. Main St, Faith, NC), the family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Faith Baptist Church.
