Dalma Adair Thompson Jr. “Thomy”, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Salisbury Center.
He was born August 1, 1953 in Florence, SC; beloved son of the late D.A. Thompson and Atha King Thompson. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a loving niece, Linda Adair Hatcher.
Thomy enjoyed many caring and wonderful friends throughout his life. He was a very brave and remarkable young man and was a true inspiration to us all.
He moved to Salisbury with his family at 3 years of age and lived here the majority of his life. Thomy was a member of First Presbyterian Church and participated in youth activities guided by Jenkie Krider Hatcher, who became a very loyal friend and mentor.
Elizabeth Dole, another very special Salisbury friend, shared loyal friendship with Thomy for many years. One memorable experience she provided was a meeting for Thomy with President Ronald Reagan in Washington, DC. He was so proud of this trip.
Jon and Elizabeth Reynolds, and their children became his extended family providing wonderful memories of lake outings, family picnics, and special occasions.
A special thank you to all these people, Dr. Yut and especially to all the wonderful staff, caregivers and friends at Salisbury Center who gave such compassionate care. His family is deeply appreciative.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Linda Thompson Hatcher and husband, Frank; nephew, David Franklin Hatcher (Jodie) and children; special brother, and sister-in-law, H. John Hatcher (Blair) and their children.

Marcus Reynolds says
Aunt Linda and Uncle Frank,
I am so sorry to hear of Thomy’s passing. He was a gentle soul who seemed to make the most of the tough hand he was dealt in life. He was lucky to have such a loving and devoted sister and family. I know that the frequent time he had with you and Frank enriched his life and gave him extra purpose.
It was wonderful to be a small part of his life and hopefully of some happy times for him. Thank you for your kind recognition in the obituary. We were all touched. You and your family are in our thoughts as we reflect back on a life lived admirably.
Love Marcus and family
