Trudy Faith Stamper passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025 in Sparta, North Carolina. Trudy left behind a legacy of love, faith, and joyful service. Born on January 14, 1958, Trudy was the beloved daughter of the late Layton and Thelma Stamper.
She was a devoted sister to Teresa (Joe) Mina, Timothy (Sandy) Stamper, Tori (Jim) Piergrossi, and Tracey (Robert Gegorek) Stamper. As an aunt, she poured her heart into the lives of Matthew, Joshua, Joel, Andrew, Kara, Kayton, and William—each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her love extended with equal warmth to her great nieces and nephews, whose laughter and presence brought her immeasurable joy. She cherished every moment with them, delighting in their milestones, stories, and hugs, and she made sure they knew just how deeply they were loved. Trudy was also blessed with many lifelong friends, including Robert Jacob and Linda Dean Smith, who stood by her through the seasons of life.
Trudy lived with an open heart and a deep faith, always seeking to love and serve others in every opportunity she was given. Her life was a reflection of God’s grace—quietly powerful, endlessly generous, and full of joy. Whether she was lending a hand, offering a kind word, or simply being present, Trudy made people feel seen, valued, and loved.
When she wasn’t helping others or making memories with her family, you could find Trudy front and center at any folk fest, tapping her foot to the rhythm of a guitar. Music was her joy, and she embraced it with the same passion she brought to every part of her life.
Though Trudy may no longer be earthside with us, her spirit remains deeply rooted in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely.
A celebration of her life—“Trudy Fest”—will be held on April 25, 2026 at China Cat Stables in White Hall, Maryland, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory with music, stories, and love.

So many great memories of Trudy! We attended Harford Christian together during High School. In recent years, we had a lot of good laughs talking about the times that she and I sat in the principal’s (Mr. Crews) office because we may have done something he did not approve of (or was against school rules, lol)! When we were both in trouble, she would always tell him it was her fault in effort to protect me 💕
Also, We had taken a First Aid class together with Miss Yarnell ( the school nurse). Trudy was able to put her skills into action one day when I accidentally swallowed a heart shaped sucker that I was eating in class (which I wasn’t supposed to have in class, lol). I got up and ran to the bathroom choking. Trudy, worried & not knowing if I was okay, jumped up and followed me. She performed the Heimlich maneuver before the school nurse could get there. Then the school nurse came behind her and did the same thing…. while I was trying to tell her to stop! because at that point could breathe! I told Miss Yarnell she better give Trudy an A in First Aid! Trudy always enjoyed telling everyone that she saved my life. 💕
Trudy’s laugh was infectious, she was always a joy to be around! I could share anything with her, she was a very special friend!
