Walter Leslie Sheffield, Jr. 79, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Brian Center of Salisbury. Walter was born on May 24, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late Walter Leslie Sheffield and Coretta McCormick Sheffield.

Walter was a graduate of Boston Christian High School, and attended the University of Massachusetts. He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served during the Korean War. Walter is a retired prison chaplain, and had also worked as an accountant for the University of Houston, he was also a musician and photographer. Walter attended the Hosanna New Testament Church in Oxford Maine.

Survivors include his daughters, Laurie Hollister and husband Thomas of Farmington, Maine; and Shirley Kuster and husband Charles of Lincoln Park, Michigan. Brother, Albert Sheffield of Lewiston, Maine and Sister, Helen Gifford of Bath, Maine. Walter is survived by 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
