Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Warren Mitchell, 63, of Kannapolis, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on October 2, 2026. He was a loving son, father, and Poppy who cherished his family above all else.
Warren was a hard-working man with one of the purest hearts around. He loved deeply and loved hard. Spending time with his family brought him the greatest joy, especially the time he shared with his beloved grandchildren.
He also enjoyed spending Saturdays with his son, whether helping him put something together or simply being there by his side. When fall arrived, you could most certainly find Warren on a Saturday afternoon watching Alabama play football. He also treasured his long, weekly conversations with his daughter. He loved talking with his father, sharing laughs, and cutting up with him, too.
Looking back on the last years of Warren’s life, it is evident that he truly learned to soak up and appreciate the little things in life that we so often take for granted. Whether spending time with family, sharing a conversation, lending a helping hand, or simply being together, those moments meant so much to him.
Warren’s kind heart, hardworking spirit, and unconditional love for his family will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Lori Mitchell.
Left to cherish his memories are his father, Don Mitchell (Janice); mother, Linda Barefield; brother, Clay Mitchell (Rhonda); daughter, Alicia Craig (Kevin); son, Craig Mitchell (Macy); grandchildren, Bailey Craig, Ty Craig, Parker Mitchell, and Leanna Mitchell; nephew, Devin Mitchell (Candace); niece, Keely Pinones (Nico); and one great-nephew and two great-nieces.
A celebration of Warren’s life will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 3:00pm at Higher Ground Baptist Church, 163 Gene Hege Rd, Lexington, NC 27295, with Rev. Andrew Parker officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Warren’s memory by spending a little extra time with the people you love. Cherish the little moments, make that phone call, share a laugh, and never take time with family for granted. There is no better way to honor Warren and the love he shared.
