William Franklin “Bill” Smith, 82, of Concord, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026.
He was born April 7, 1944 in Concord, NC. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and served in the United States Army Reserves – Chemical Division. He was also a lifelong farmer.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Mildred Smith, William was preceded in death by granddaughter, Madeline Protheroe.
William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Elaine Mumford Smith; sons, Keith Smith and Seth Smith (Carla); daughter, Melissa Smith; granddaughters, Ava Smith, Lila Smith, and Peyton Protheroe.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital,
