Zachary Calvin Gurley

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Zachary Calvin Gurley, 39, of Rockwell, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his home in Rockwell. He was born on August 18, 1981 in Charlotte to John Gurley and Terri Weatherman Gurley.

He attended school at Northwest Cabarrus High School and Montreat College where he played baseball. He enjoyed being with his family more than anything and spending time at home. He loved his church, Grace Baptist of China Grove, coaching his children’s sports teams, reading, Duke basketball, going to lunch with friends, and watching WWE wrestling. Zack knew and loved the Lord and it was evident in all he did. He lead his family with love and gentleness. He was beyond patient, especially with his wife of 20 years and all of her ridiculous ideas, random “adventures” and her serious lack of planning for anything. Zack never failed to put them first. He will be greatly missed as a husband, son, father, brother, and friend

In addition to his parents, Zachary is survived by his wife of 20 years, Chandi Shea Gurley; children, Noah Blake Palmer(21), Kylee Nicole Gurley(15), Jack Calvin Gurley(13); two brothers; Zeke Gurley (Shannon) and son Matthew, and Zeb Gurley (Ashley) and daughters Olivia and Rayelynne; two brother in laws, Andrew Petty (Deana) children Davis and CJ, and Ryan Petty (Lynsey) daughter Vivian Gray; and his mother and father in law, Steven L. Petty and Kathy Slebioda.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 11, 2021 at 4pm at Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis.

Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Gurley family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
